Program to focus on wildlife

The Millersville Woman's Club will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 222 N. George St., Millersville. The meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m., which is a departure from the usual schedule.

The guest speaker will be senior naturalist Lisa J. Sanchez from the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation's Environmental Center, where she has worked for the last 30 years. She teaches students of all ages to explore and value nature, and she enjoys helping people to reconnect to the earth through education and observation.

Wildlife hibernates, migrates, or learns how to stay active to survive the winter. Sanchez will share the how wildlife behaves and where it goes at this time of the year, as well as clues to help identify the animals that might live in one's backyard and throughout Lancaster County.

The Millersville Woman's Club's activities support scholarships for senior students at Penn Manor High School and the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center, as well as many other philanthropic efforts.
