Program to focus on William Penn

As part of the Conversation E-town series, local resident and history connoisseur Mary Conrad will present "William Penn: Who Knew?" on Thursday, April 18, from 7 to 8 p.m. The program will be held at the Victorian H.U. Coble House, 33 E. High St., Elizabethtown, located adjacent to the Winters Heritage House Museum.

Conrad will explain how William Penn, who was born in 1644 in London, received a charter granting him ownership of land in the New World and how he created the government of Pennsylvania despite having no previous governmental leadership experience. She will also answer the question "Is there a connection between William Penn and Winters Heritage House?"

The Conversation E-town series is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Reservations are requested by calling 717-367-4672 or emailing teresa@elizabethtownhistory.org. Event information is also available by searching for "Winters Heritage House Museum" and viewing the organization's events.

Free and metered parking is located behind the building.
