Program to highlight birding

The Ladies Night Out group from Millersville Community Church will host local birding enthusiast Nina Wolfe at its meeting on Friday, May 10. The event will be held at the Millersville Community Church's Hope Campus at 242 Bender Road from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wolfe will highlight some of the backyard birding experiences she has shared with her husband, Warren, in Lancaster County and beyond.

Wolfe is a graduate of Millersville State College and held positions in information technology until retiring in 2018 when she turned in her company laptop for completely different technology - binoculars and digital cameras. She serves as treasurer for the Lancaster County Bird Club and secretary for the Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association. She is also a member of the Lancaster County Garden Club, the Muhlenberg Botanical Society, the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology, and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. She and Warren lead bird watching walks for the Lancaster County Bird Club, and most of these outings free and open to the public.

All women in the community are welcome to attend. The meeting is free, but a freewill offering will be received.

Reservations are not required but are helpful for planning purposes. For more details and to make reservations, call the church at 717-872-4571.
