The Elizabethtown Historical Society, 75 S. Poplar St., invites the community to a program on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.

The featured speaker, Nancy Groff, will present "The History of Watt & Shand." Watt & Shand was once a department store in downtown Lancaster.

Groff is the great-granddaughter of Peter and Lizzie Watt; Peter was one of the store's original three founders. Groff's presentation will provide insights into the family history and the store's legacy. She will also discuss her book, "Watt & Shand: East, West, Hame's Best," in which she shares her family history and memories of those who worked and shopped at the store.

The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
