Public notification posted for land development project

Chapter 71 of the Department of Environmental Resources Rules and Regulations requires that the sponsors of a proposed new land development that will contribute over 50,000 gallons per day (gpd) of sewage flow to notify and allow the general public to comment on the proposed project.

Hershey West End is a proposed mixed-use development that comprises apartment buildings, townhomes, single-family homes, restaurants, commercial and medical offices, and retail, hotel, and life care facilities. The project will have private and public streets. The development is located on a 288.22-acre site located southeast of the intersection of State Route 322 and Waltonville Road in Derry Township, Dauphin County. The development will increase the incoming sewage flows to the Derry Township Municipal Authority's conveyance facilities by 145,321 gpd.

The sewage generated will be treated in the Clearwater STP. Persons wishing to review the proposed subdivision are invited to make comments to the municipality, within 30 days from the date of this public notice. Plans will be available for review during normal business hours at the Derry Township O/ice, located at 600 Clearwater Road, Hershey. The general public may provide comments to the municipality and review the proposed revision at the above township address. The municipality will address the comments before taking final action on the plan. The public notice has been published in accordance with Chapter 71.
