Railroad Museum Sets September Programs

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 Gap Road, Strasburg, has announced its fall programs for its 50th anniversary year.

September events will include Sensory Saturday on Sept. 13. To register, visit https://tinyurl.com/sensory-saturday.

Story Time With the Educator will take place on Friday, Sept. 19, with walk-in registration at 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers will listen to the reading of "Mel Fell" by Corey R. Tabor and make a kingfisher craft.

A Railroading Merit Badge Workshop is set for Saturday, Sept. 20. The workshop is for people ages 11 to 17. Register at https://tinyurl.com/merit-badge-workshop.

Members Day and the annual banquet will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27. For more information or to regsiter, members may visit http://www.rrmuseumpa.org.

Roundhouse construction will be ongoing, as well as the stabilization of the five Ready for the Roundhouse historic Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotives, which will be exhibited in the roundhouse. Funds for the roundhouse locomotives may be donated on the aformentioned website.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is home to a collection of about 100 historic locomotives and railroad cars, a research library and archives, a working restoration shop, an immersive education center, and a museum store.
