Reading Symphony Orchestra Sets Concerts

The Reading Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2026-27 season, which has the theme "Music That Tells Our Story." The orchestra has also announced that music director Andrew Constantine's contract has been extended through 2030.

The upcoming season will open with Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 on Saturday, Sept. 12, featuring violinist Philippe Quint. "Berks in Focus: Symphony of a Thousand Images" will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10, with multimedia curation by Westwater Arts. The Grainger Academy of the Joffrey Ballet will perform with the orchestra on Saturday, Nov. 21. Emily Birsan, a soprano, will be the soloist for Mahler's Symphony No. 4 on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2027. A concert featuring Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 and a performance by the Amara Trio will take place on Saturday, March 13, 2027. A concert featuring Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 and a performance by cellist Robert deMaine will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2027. In addition, the orchestra will present "The Music of Elton John and Billy Joel," featuring Jeans 'n Classics, on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026. All events will begin at 7:30 p.m.
