Rev up for fun at the Double Clutch Show

A few years ago, Nick Sieber was searching for things to do in the area, and he stumbled upon an idea for a unique car show.

"After seeing a decline in community events, I gathered a group of friends and family and pitched the idea to host our own show," he said. "I wanted something that was affordable, family-friendly and easy-going."

Out of that meeting, the Double Clutch Tractor and Car Show was born.

"Everyone was supportive of the idea, and in 2021, we organized a very successful inaugural event," he shared. "Since then, our show has grown by leaps and bounds, and I can't hardly wait to see what the next five years has to offer!"

This year's show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook, 58 Church Road, Manheim.

"This is a cruise-in-style event. No registration is required," Sieber said. "Prizes will be offered to the Best of Show and Best in Class vehicles. Classes are cars, trucks and tractors. The Best of Show award is open to any class."

Over the years, entries have included pre-World War II cars and trucks, original and unrestored tractors, a 1960s tractor trailer truck and Antique Automobile Club of America first-place winners.

Including tractors in the event is perfect for Lancaster County, Sieber said.

"Between the rural setting of the church and the agricultural roots for so many members of our community, highlighting tractors was a must," he remarked. "This not only gives the owners of the equipment an opportunity to share their passion, but also for folks to learn more about the importance of agriculture and meet the farmers who help make Lancaster and Lebanon County thrive."

Sieber, who regularly organizes community events, also collects antique cars. He's hoping to bring his 1916 Studebaker, 1919 Buick, 1928 Buick, 1930 Ford and 1940 Buick to the show.

He also hopes both car enthusiasts and people looking for something unique to do will come out for the show.

"This community-focused event has something to offer for the entire family," he said.

Beka Jones Music will perform songs from the 1960s to the present. Homemade food will be available for purchase from Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook and will include what Sieber deems the church's "famous secret-recipe hamburgers," as well as hot dogs and french fries. Various snacks and drinks will also be for sale. Udder Bliss Creamery will sell homemade ice cream as well.

Lawn games, barrel train rides, face painting and use of the church playground will be available for children attending the show.

"One of my main goals for this event is to keep it affordable, especially for families," Sieber said. "There is no admission fee for guests, no registration fee for show vehicles or charge for the barrel train ride or face painting. I want this to be an event that anyone can attend without breaking the bank! In order to help offset the costs for organizing this, we will be accepting donations for parking throughout the day."

He noted that the rural setting of the show provides a shaded, relaxing spot for the event.

"Our show uses the beautiful grass picnic grove at Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook, which is surrounded by farmlands, mature trees and great outdoor amenities," he shared. "Guests are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and relax in the shade around the bandstand overlooking the show field while enjoying live music and homemade food."
