Ribbon Cutting Held for New Playground

On May 15, Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development unveiled its new infant and toddler playground with a ceremonial ribbon cutting attended by Schreiber staff and board members; community supporters; and key project donors, including John and Kelly Hollister whose gift of $150,000 propelled the vision into reality. The playground was constructed by Benchmark Construction Company to create a safe and inclusive play space for Schreiber's Circle of Friends Academy.

The center's new infant and toddler playground includes nearly 2,000 square feet of space and is more than three times larger than the previous area. It is located just outside the Circle of Friends Academy infant classroom and includes safety features such as leveled ground to eliminate tripping hazards and rubber playground tiles. The space also has play sets funded by Schreiber's giving circle, Edna's Angels, that include slides, ladders, a play kitchen, and a basketball hoop. The area is surrounded by grass and mostly covered by a sunshade canopy.
