Rizzetta's Tones to perform

Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, will present Rizzetta's Tones in concert as part of the DRS Concert Series on Wednesday, May 10, at 7 p.m. The concert is free, but a freewill offering will be received.

Rizzetta's Tones is a Celtic and folk band that features "fraternal twin" hammered dulcimers, silver flute, high and low whistles bass, and guitars. The group often spices up its sound with button accordion, autoharp, Greek bouzouki, mandolin, and ukulele, as well as percussion instruments such as doumbek, cajon, djembe, and even frogs. All five members take turns singing lead and background vocals on songs.

The group's repertoire includes music from Ireland, Scotland, and the United States, drawing as well from the traditions of Finland, Brazil, France, Macedonia, and others. The group also utilizes new arrangements and writes original material.
