Roberts to raise funds through event

Jim Roberts of Mount Joy will compete in the 2023 One Lap of America. This will be Roberts' 14th time competing in the event, and as he did the past several years, he will raise funds for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC). Over the years, Roberts has raised more than $44,000 in total for PBCC.

Roberts' transit driver this year will again be fellow car enthusiast Gary "Duck" Drake from the Cincinnati area. Roberts and Drake will travel to race tracks in Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma and Kentucky and then return to Indiana. They will travel approximately 3,600 miles for the event and almost 4,800 miles by the time Roberts arrives home again. Along the way, they will compete against more than 90 other teams.

In recognition of each community member who donates to Roberts' effort, Roberts will put a sticker on the roof of the Corvette he will drive during the event; proceeds will benefit PBCC. The donor's name will be listed on the sticker, or donors can purchase a sticker in honor or memory of a loved one.
