Rotary Club honors essay contest winner

Lower Dauphin High School ninth-grader Nolan Gordon was recently named the winner of the Rotary Club of Hummelstown's annual Four-Way Test essay contest. Nolan wrote about his experiences on a mission trip to Ohio, where he worked in an urban garden and orchard near Cleveland. The Rotary Club presented Nolan with a cash prize and a certificate of achievement.

The Rotary Four-Way Test is one of the group's guiding principles, providing a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical framework for the things Rotarians think, say or do in their personal and professional relationships. The Four-Way Test asks the questions "Is it the truth?" and "Is it fair to all concerned?" as well as "Will it build goodwill and better friendships?" and "Will it be beneficial to all concerned?"
