Rotary Club honors Student of the Month

Braden Weese, a senior at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, has been selected as Lancaster South Rotary Club's Student of the Month for May. He was presented to the club by Ben Feeney, principal of Lampeter-Strasburg High School.

Braden is the son of Christopher and Lauren Weese of Lancaster.

Braden has earned distinguished honor roll recognition and is a member of the National Honor Society, and he was previously named L-S Student of the Month at Martin Meylin Middle School. He was named a Burrowes Scholar in fifth, eighth and 11th grades, and he is an AP Scholar and a National Merit Scholar Commended Student. Commended Students are among the top 50,000 of more than two million students who entered the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Braden serves as president of the Model United Nations Club and as president of the Interclub Council. He is a member of the Mock Trial team and Link Crew, and serves as a student tutor. Braden also participates in track and field, serving as team captain.

Following graduation, Braden will attend Dickinson College and double major in political science and legal studies. He aspires to be a criminal defense attorney with the goal of doing pro bono work for underserved communities.
