Rotary Club honors Students of the Month

Annaliese Sauve and Carson Zook, seniors at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, have been selected as Lancaster South Rotary Club's Students of the Month for February. They were presented to the club by Benjamin Feeney, principal of Lampeter-Strasburg High School. The Student of the Month is selected on the basis of academic excellence as well as school and community service.

Sauve is the daughter of Paul and Kristin Sauve of West Lampeter Township. She is the president of the mock trial team, co-president of the National Honor Society, vice president of the Model United Nations, and secretary of the Interact Club. She also serves on the Student Council, Inter-Club Council, and Mini-THON Executive Committee, and she is a Link Crew leader and a member of the High School Heroes Program. Sauve is a defender on the varsity girls' soccer team.

Outside of school, Sauve is involved in her church, where she volunteers with the children's program and sings in the church choir. She also plays the piano in her spare time.

Following graduation, Sauve plans to attend a college to double major in political science and psychology. She would then like to earn a master's degree in psychology with the goal of becoming a licensed therapist.

Carson is the son of Randy and Lori Zook of Willow Street. He is is the senior class treasurer, secretary of the National Honor Society, and the chief science officer of STEM Club. He is the captain of the PIAA Class 4A state runner-up football team, and he competes on the varsity track and field team. He also plays in the orchestra, jazz band, modern band, and pit orchestra.

In his church, Carson serves on the worship team and the youth worship team. He has participated in two mission trips through his church, providing service in Coatesville and Mexico City.

Following graduation, he will attend Grove City College to study mechanical engineering, play football, and play in the jazz band.

The Rotary Club of Lancaster South is an organization of service-minded individuals who endeavor to live by the mission of "Service Above Self" and make a positive impact both locally and globally. The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at Meadia Heights Golf Club, 402 Golf Road, Lancaster. New members are welcome.
