The Twin Valley Rotary Club has selected Twin Valley High School (TVHS) students Zachary Troutman and Cecilia Skoniczin as its Students of the Month for September.

Zachary is a member of the National Honor Society and has played for the TVHS football team for the past three seasons. Zachary was named Lineman of the Week by the Lancaster-Lebanon Counties Quarterback Club last fall and was also selected as an Academic All-Star.

He is also a shot put thrower for the track and field team during the winter and spring seasons and has earned medals on various occasions.

Zachary has taken numerous Advanced Placement (AP) and honors classes, including AP U.S. history, AP biology, AP English language and composition and AP computer science. He thrives in his STEM courses at school and will be pursuing an education in that field. He is considering attending Penn State University to further his education after high school.

Cecilia holds various leadership positions within the music department. Not only is she the orchestra secretary, but also the vice president of the concert band and Tri-M Music Honors Society. She also participates in extracurricular ensembles, such as select choir and marching band.

This is Cecilia's second year as a drum major for the TVHS marching band. In that role, she conducts the ensemble, facilitates rehearsals and serves as the bridge between staff and students. Cecilia was recently featured on 6abc Action News as a drum major and spoke on the band's behalf. She also has a solo during the second movement of the show this year.

Outside of TVHS, Cecilia participates in honors festivals on the county and district levels. Cecilia is the president of the TVHS theater arts club and has served on the executive board for three consecutive years. She is now a National Honor Thespian, meaning she has dedicated more than 1,000 hours of her high school career to theater and developing her craft.

She plans to pursue a career in acting and theatrical production.

Each month during the school year, the Twin Valley Rotary Club honors two students of the month from TVHS. The seniors are selected by guidance counselors, teachers and staff members at the school.
