Rick and Rhonda Friese of Elizabethtown have announced the engagement of their son, Eric Friese of Chapel Hill, N.C., to Jasmine Sar of Richmond, Va.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Steve and Soma Sar of Seattle, Wash. She graduated from Monacan High School and from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020.

The groom-to-be graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 2012 and Virginia Military Institute in 2016. He is employed by FedEx in Elon, N.C.

An Aug. 14 wedding is planned.
