School announces Day of Plenty fundraiser

Lititz Christian School, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz, will host its second annual Day of Plenty fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29 and 30. The event will offer a series of family fun activities for the school and Lititz community.

The festivities will kick off with a chicken barbecue fundraiser on Sept. 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the school. A meal will include a half-chicken, chips and a roll and butter. Half-chickens will also be available to purchase separately. Drinks will be available for purchase at time of pickup. The homecoming event will begin on Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m. with the varsity boys' soccer team facing off against Coventry Christian School on the soccer field at Lititz Area Mennonite School, 1050 E. Newport Road, Lititz. The junior varsity and defending PIAA District III champion varsity girls' volleyball teams will compete against Conestoga Christian at 5 and 6 p.m., respectively, in the gym at Warwick High School, 301 W. Orange St., Lititz. There is a fee for game entry, with a discount for students. Concessions, including chicken barbecue meals while supplies last, will be available at the volleyball games. The homecoming ceremony will commence with the coronation of the king and queen at the conclusion of the varsity game.

On Saturday, Lititz Christian will host Harvest Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the community is invited to attend. Attendees can expect to enjoy inflatables, carnival games, face painting, barrel train rides, Touch a Truck, Coffee Wars, bingo and more. Food and drinks available for purchase will include apple cider donuts, funnel cakes, apple nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, soft pretzels, soda and water. The Day of Plenty weekend will wrap up on the evening of Sept. 30 with the Lititz Christian High School Fall Ball. High school students will come together for a evening of dancing. Admission to the dance will be by donation.

The 24-hour Day of Plenty and Harvest Fest fundraiser will benefit Lititz Christian School's annual fund.
