The Octorara Area School District will open a prekindergarten classroom for the 2026-27 school year. The PreK Matters classroom will be located in the Primary Learning Center, along with the kindergarten and first- and second-grade classrooms.

The PreK Matters program will be modeled after Pre-K Counts and will include income-based eligibility criteria. This initiative aims to expand early learning opportunities and strengthen the school district's support for students and families from the beginning.

In addition, a Room to Bloom prekindergarten option, which is run by the staff and students in the Career and Technical Education program, is available. It is open to all Octorara families. For more information, contact Tara Murdock at tmurdock@octorara.org.
