School to host Instant Decision Week

Elizabethtown Area High School's Counseling Department will present Instant Decision Week for seniors interested in postsecondary education from Monday, Oct. 2, through Friday, Oct. 6.

Instant Decision Week is an exclusive event where high school seniors can meet with college representatives and receive on-the-spot admission decisions. It is an opportunity to fast-track the college application process. There will also be military representation for question-and-answer sessions.

The high school has partnered with several colleges and universities, allowing seniors to apply and potentially receive an instant admission decision from the following institutions: Albright College, Bloomsburg University, Elizabethtown College, Harrisburg University of the Sciences, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Juniata College, Kutztown University, Lebanon Valley College, Lock Haven University, Mansfield University, Messiah University, Millersville University, Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, Penn College of Technology, Penn State Harrisburg, Penn State York, PennWest California, Shippensburg University, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, University of Pittsburgh Johnstown and York College of Pennsylvania. In addition, representatives from the Air Force, Army, Army National Guard and Navy will be present.

Whether seniors have already narrowed down their choices or are just beginning their college search, the event can help them to make important decisions about their future. There is no commitment to the institutions. The high school counseling office encourages interested students to research the participating colleges and universities beforehand and complete the pre-event requirements.

Appointments are required. A full schedule of events and registration information can be found at http://www.etownschools.org.
