Science Factory to celebrate Water Week

The Lancaster Science Factory will participate in Lancaster Water Week by hosting various activities. Lancaster Water Week is the annual celebration of the 1,400 miles of waterways in Lancaster County.

On First Friday, June 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., visitors will receive free admission to the Science Factory and have access to special activities presented by the Lancaster Conservancy, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. Throughout the week, children in kindergarten through eighth grade may participate in environmental science workshops for a fee. Children in kindergarten through third grade may attend Healthy Streams and Wildlife on Thursday, June 1; PA Biomes in a Box on Friday, June 2; and Fairy Gardens on Tuesday, June 6; these activities will all be held at 4 p.m. For those in second through eighth grades, the Science Factory will offer Environmental Engineering on June 1 and 2 and Dragonflies & Butterflies on June 6; these activities will also be held at 4 p.m. Additionally, those of all ages are invited to Weather in a Jar workshops at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, and Dragonflies & Butterflies at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 5.

Special activities will be offered free with admission at the Science Cafe. These programs will include Water Cycle Science on June 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Weather Pinwheels from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Milkweed Seeds from 2 to 4 p.m. on June 2, and 3D Printed Macroinvertebrates from 1 to 3 p.m. on June 6.
