Science festival planned

Lancaster Science Factory, 454 New Holland Ave., Lancaster, will hold the Science Is Amazing Festival on Sunday, April 23. Two timed entry sessions will be held, from noon to 2 p.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m.

A variety of businesses and organizations will offer activities. Children may learn about solar science from Solar United Neighbors, heat transfer science from Advanced Cooling Technologies, chemistry from Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, and weather science from Reach Cyber Charter School. High Steel will offer Virtual Welding, make717 will host a Soldering Zone and Mini-Maker Faire, and Millersville University's TEECA will present Squishy Circuits and CNC Machine Demos.

Attendees may play Pollinator Plinko and Ecosystem Jenga sponsored by the Lancaster Conservancy and visit the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design display to create a wooden universe through chalk marbling. The Lancaster Creative Factory will offer a Fabric Dye and Mini-Canvas Collage activity.

Other participating entities and their activities include Cargas, Scratch Coding; Franklin & Marshall DAX Lab, Draw a Scientist data collection; Fulton Bank, Hands-on Money Math; UPMC, Glo Germ Healthy Hands; and Miss Central Pennsylvania Miranda Moore, Take Action in Fashion, Sustainable Fashion.
