Local Scots-Irish trio Fire in the Glen will perform at Shank's Tavern, 36 S. Waterford Ave., Marietta, on Saturday, March 4, to celebrate the release of the band's seventh full-length CD. The CD release party is scheduled from 1:30 to 4 p.m. There is no cover charge.

Fire in the Glen consists of Amanda Wells on vocals and guitar, Tom Knapp on fiddle and bodhran, and Rod Nevin on bagpipes, whistles, and vocals. The performance will include a mix of traditional Irish and Scottish songs and tunes, including selections from Fire in the Glen's new album, "Cutting Bracken," which will be available for purchase at the event.
