Seniors of the Month recognized

Jesse Hurst and Jenna Moffett have been selected as the Seniors of the Month for March at Manheim Central High School. The Manheim Women's Club sponsors the Girls of the Month, and the Rotary Club of Manheim sponsors the Boys of the Month. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Jesse, 18, is the son of Katrina Hurst and Troy Hurst of Manheim. Jesse participates in Science Club, Science Olympiad, TSA, chess slub, and speech and debate. He is a youth delegate for Forest Hills Mennonite Church, the president of Forest Hills MYF, a delegate for Mennonite USA, and a volunteer carrying out property maintenance for seniors or those with mobility challenges. Jesse hopes to become an aerospace engineer working for Lockheed Martin or start his own aerospace contracting business.

Jenna, 18, is the daughter of David and Marilyn Moffett of Lititz. She is a violinist in the orchestra as well as a member of the science club, French club, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Math Honor Society. She participated in the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce Mentorship Program last year and has been class treasurer and a member of the cross-country team. She earned the Second Team All-Star award in 11th grade and the Scholar-Athlete award in 12th. In the community, Jenna was a Girl Scout Ambassador. She plans to attend college to study biology, and she is considering a career in food science or the medical field.
