Seniors of the Month Recognized

Bryce Steach and Adelle Harrill have been selected as January's Seniors of the Month at Manheim Central High School.

The Girls of the Month are sponsored by the Manheim Women's Club and are recognized at the club's meeting, which includes a speaker, refreshments, and a recognition gift. The Boys of the Month are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Manheim. Both students are invited to attend a luncheon at Pleasant View Town Square North held in the Hearth and Harrow dining room during the month they are chosen. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Bryce, 17, is the son of Samantha and Brandon Steach of Manheim. He is the president of the Science Olympiad team and the Spanish club and co-president of the Science National Honor Society. He is a member of orchestra, Baron Stage, chorus, Amnesty International, National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Thespian Honor Society. He has been selected for the Constellation Youth Energy Summit, won first place in the UPenn Science Conference's Science Communication Challenge, and has participated in PMEA orchestra and chorus festivals.

Outside of school, Bryce volunteers as a student coach for the Manheim Central swim team and as a STEM Ambassador for the Lancaster Science Factory.

After graduation, Bryce plans to attend college and major in civil environmental engineering, with goals of researching and encouraging sustainable development within the energy, industrial, and mining sectors.

Adelle, 17, is the daughter of Zlatka and Galen Harrill of Manheim. Adelle's school activities include membership in the Science Olympiad team, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Interact Club, Math Honor Society, Rho Kappa, and Science Honor Society.

As a member of the Interact Club, Adelle volunteers each year to help local nonprofit organizations. Within her church, Adelle serves as an ambassador for Youth Advance, and she has participated in mission trips to Mexico.

After graduation, Adelle plans to attend college and earn a degree in teaching.
