Sewists to gather for program

Lancaster Area Sewing Network will meet via Zoom on Monday, April 28, at 7 p.m.

The program will be "Sewing With Leftovers," presented by Rae Cumbie. She will share how to use scraps and ill-fitting or outdated clothes to create new garments. Topics may include the benefits of layering to add support and hide the seams, tips for finishing, and thoughts on finding inspiration.

Cumbie is the creative director at Fit for Art Patterns, which offers patterns for modern wardrobe basics that focus on fit and artful design. Cumbie's coaching, blog posts, virtual classes, retreats, and articles for Threads magazine focus on how to stitch up a fun, comfortable wardrobe and design more creatively. She is a co-author of the book "Sewing Quilted Patchwork Jackets." Her blog, "Sew! Let's Get Dressed," is available at http://www.fitforartpatterns.com.

The Lancaster Area Sewing Network's theme for 2025 is sustainability in sewing.

There is a fee for nonmembers. To register for the program by Monday, April 21, contact Linda at lancastersews@gmail.com.
