On Sunday, Sept. 11, Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ will host a concert by singer-composer Kira Shcherbakova. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. in the pavilion at the church's Rader Park on Apostles Way, 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster.

Shcherbakova has written songs for adults and children. She was born in Ukraine to a Jewish family, came to the United States when she was 10 years old, and became a Christian in 2010. Her goal has been to become a professional singer, and she believes God gave her a purpose, which is to sing for Christ. She hopes to encourage people to follow God's plan for them.
