Sierra Club Plans Meeting

The Sierra Club - Lancaster Group will host a presentation titled "Local PA Outdoor Corps Projects" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15. The program will be held at Stone Independent School, 480 New Holland Ave., Suite 7101, Lancaster.

The speaker will be Kate Prisby, a former trail crew leader for the Pennsylvania Outdoor Corps, a program of the Student Conservation Association (SCA). A national nonprofit, SCA was established in 1957; its goals are to conserve land and empower young people of all backgrounds to plan, act, and lead as they protect and restore natural and cultural resources. Prisby will share information about her experiences while working with youth and young adult crews on local habitat restoration and outdoor recreation projects, many of which included state, federal, and nonprofit partners.

Admission is free and open to the public. The Sierra Club continues to limit indoor gatherings to groups of 25 or fewer people, and masks are required; a remote option also will be available via Zoom.
