Singers invited to participate in event

The Musical Arts Concert Series of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Road, Lancaster, will host the St. Peter's Choir Festival at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, to benefit the Manheim Township Ambulance Association.

Community members are invited to join the chorus. Singers will have the opportunity to perform a variety of choral music, sharing the program with professional musicians.

Singers of all ages, from high school through senior adults, are welcome to participate. No auditions or prior knowledge of the music are required, but singers should be able to read music. In addition to the adult chorus, children interested in participating will be able to join the children's choir for this event.

Rehearsals for the adult chorus will be held at St. Peter's from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, April 24, May 1, May 8, and May 15. Rehearsals for the children's choir will begin at 4:15 p.m. on the same dates. All singers must be available for a dress rehearsal on Saturday, May 17, and for the performance on May 18.

The freewill offering at last year's choir festival raised $5,000 for the Manheim Township Ambulance Association.
