The Solanco Fair Baby Parade will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Solanco Fairgrounds, Park Avenue, Quarryville.

The parade is open to any child age 6 and under. Contestants must report to the fairgrounds for registration at 6 p.m., and judging will begin at 6:15 p.m. There is no rain date.

Classes in the Walking Division will include Best Imitation of a Nursery Rhyme or Fairytale, Best Characterization, Most Original, Best Team, Girl in Fancy Dress, and Best-Dressed Boy. The Vehicle on Wheels Division's classes will be Best Carried Out Theme; Nursery Rhyme, Fairytale, or Storybook; and Miscellaneous. Classes in the Float Division will include Best Characterization and Miscellaneous categories for floats larger than 4 by 4 feet and Best Carried Out Theme; Nursery Rhyme, Fairytale, or Storybook; and Miscellaneous categories for mini-floats, which are 4 by 4 feet or smaller.

Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the Best of Show in each division. All entries must be pulled by hand; no live animals are permitted.
