Solanco Welcomes New Teachers

Seventeen new teachers have joined Solanco School District for the 2025-26 school year.

Mary Beth Ferguson is teaching middle school STEM at Swift Middle School. She graduated from St. Leo University, Florida.

Ashley Risk is teaching elementary physical education at Quarryville and Providence elementary schools. She is a Solanco graduate and also graduated from West Chester University.

Brian Shortes is teaching middle school STEM at Smith Middle School. He graduated from Kutztown University and Millersville University.

Ashley Haines is a learning support teacher at Clermont Elementary School. She graduated from Millersville University.

Hannah Walters is a second-grade long-term substitute at Providence Elementary School. She is a Solanco graduate and also graduated from Millersville University.

Tim Wright is a long-term substitute for middle school math at Swift Middle School. He graduated from Penn State University.

Benjamin Haas is a music teacher at Bart-Colerain and Providence elementary schools. He graduated from Penn State University.

Alexandria Grossman is a second-grade long-term substitute at Clermont Elementary School. She graduated from Millersville University.

Alicia Flemming is an itinerant autistic support teacher. She graduated from Millersville University.

Grant Shaika is a social studies teacher at Smith Middle School. He graduated from Penn State University.

Scott Gaffey is a learning support teacher at Quarryville Elementary School. He graduated from St. Bonaventure University, N.Y.

Ethan Kauffman is a physical education teacher at Smith Middle School. He graduated from Penn State University.

Jack Smith is a teacher of gifted students, mid-level. He graduated from Penn State University.

Kaleb Corwell is a physical education teacher at Solanco High School. He graduated from Coastal Carolina University, South Carolina.

Chris Blackmon is a fifth-grade teacher at Clermont Elementary School. He graduated from University of North Carolina and Temple University.

Kylie Calogero is a long-term substitute music teacher at Solanco High School. She graduated from Millersville University.

Kelsey Koch is an elementary counselor at Bart-Colerain Elementary School. She graduated from Penn State University and West Chester University.
