Spaghetti dinner to benefit Scout troop

Scouts BSA Troop 349 will bring back its spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 100 W. Main St., Mountville. This fundraiser has not been held since before the pandemic.

In addition to spaghetti, the meal will include salad and garlic bread. Many of the items for the dinner have been donated by TFB Catering and other local businesses. The Scouts will also host a bake sale.

There is a fee, with a discount for children age 10 and under. Tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting Diane Bair at dianebair@ymail.com or 302-588-6005. Walk-ins are also welcome.

The individual Scouts will receive a portion of the proceeds from the tickets they sell, and the remainder will go into the troop's general fund. The troop will soon welcome 14 new members who will cross over from Cub Scouts. With the new members will come additional costs for equipment, training and more.

Troop 349 offers separate boys' and girls' troops, which participate in both separate and joint activities. A Venturing Crew has also been started for older Scouts interested in participating in more high adventure trips.
