Speaker to share about celebration

The Circle Legacy Center will present a Second Friday program, "Indigenous Peoples' Day Philly: Indigenous Americans," on Sept. 13 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Community Mennonite Church, 328 W. Orange St., Lancaster. The gathering will start with a social time, and it will also will include a potluck meal. Participants should bring their own utensils.

Mabel Negrete will share about her personal journey and the genesis of the nonprofit Indigenous Peoples' Day Philly Inc., of which she is the co-founder, executive director, and chair. Negrete is a native Chilean of Picunche-Inca cultural heritage. She is also an artist, activist, educator, and entrepreneur who holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the San Francisco Art Institute and a Master of Science in art, culture, and technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Parking is available across the street from the church, and attendees should enter through the glass doors from Concord Street.
