Church Sets Spiritual Direction Sessions

Hempfield United Methodist Church (UMC), 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, will host a new series of spiritual direction sessions via Zoom on Thursdays, Jan. 28, Feb. 25, March 18, and April 15, from 6 to 7:15 p.m. The sessions will be led by the Rev. Brenda Coffin.

The book for this series is "The Healthy Living Handbook" by Laura Harris Smith. The faith-based book aims to offer a holistic approach to developing better habits for mind, body, and spiritual health. Smith is a Christian, nutritional counselor, and health coach.

The Jan. 28 session will focus on Developing Healthy Habits for Your Spirit, with the Feb. 25 installment highlighting Developing Healthy Habits for Your Mind. On March 18, participants will hear about Developing Healthy Habits for Your Body. On April 15, guest speaker and Hippocrates-trained health educator Peg Marks will speak about food as medicine for the body, stress on the body, and developing resilience.
