Sports Hall of Fame to induct new members

The Lancaster County Sports Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Eden Resort, 222 Eden Road, Lancaster. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. The banquet will honor the 2024 inductees and award winners.

Receiving the J. Freeland Chryst Sports Achievement Award and induction into the Hall of Fame are the former Barbara Barr, who played basketball, tennis, and softball for McCaskey; Damien Henry, a member of the football, basketball, and track teams at McCaskey; Kyle Salyards, a swimmer for Hempfield; and Kris Wilson, who played football for McCaskey.

Pete Horn, McCaskey basketball coach and athletic director, will be honored as the 2024 George W. Kirchner Award recipient.

Other award winners are Dakota Nesbitt, named the Inspirational Athlete of the Year, and Ken Riley, the Volunteer of the Year. The 2024 LNP|LancasterOnline High School Senior Athletes of the Year - Manheim Central's Aaron Enterline and Manheim Township's Brenna Campagna - will be recognized as well.
