STEM Alliance, Rock Lititz Host Educator Externship

This summer, the Lancaster County STEM Alliance (LCSA) partnered with Rock Lititz to host its annual Educator Externship aimed at connecting classroom learning to the real-world demands of today's workforce. The full-day experience brought educators from across the region onto the Rock Lititz campus, where they explored firsthand how academic concepts translate into meaningful, high-demand careers.

Participants engaged in hands-on activities across a range of fields, from audio engineering and stage design to project management and equipment fabrication. Educators also had the opportunity to speak with Rock Lititz professionals about their career journeys, educational pathways and the blend of skills critical to success in their roles and in today's job market.

The externship not only highlighted the diverse and often lesser-known career opportunities available in Lancaster County but also reinforced the importance of aligning education with local industry needs. Educators left the experience better equipped to design lessons that reflect both student interest and the essential skills, from technical proficiency to creativity and collaboration, that employers value.

This year's program builds on the momentum of previous LCSA externships hosted by regional industry leaders such as Lancaster Farming, Susquehanna Printing, CNHi, Eurofins, High Industries and Advanced Cooling Technologies (ACT).
