Kasie Burkhart of Columbia, a student at Milton Hershey School (MHS), was part of a student ensemble that performed the national anthem and additional music at the first game of the American Hockey League's 2023-24 season. As members of the MHS performance band, the students were invited by the Hershey Bears to help them kick off the season at the GIANT Center in Hershey. This game also celebrated the team's 2023 Calder Cup win.

Burkhart and her fellow students performed in front of more than 10,000 people at the game. Burkhart played the alto saxophone.
