Students Accepted To District Band

Emma Zdrojewski, a Solanco High School sophomore, recently qualified for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 7 South Honor Band for 2021. She earned fourth chair out of 41 auditioning flutes.

Students recorded themselves performing the assigned audition repertoire and submitted their recordings for judging. Participants were ranked and received feedback.

Although there will not be an in-person festival due to COVID-19, Emma now has the opportunity to prepare more music in order to re-audition for a place in the PMEA Region 5 Honor Band. Region 5 consists of 15 counties. Placement in the Region 5 Honor Band would then lead to an opportunity for Emma to audition for All-State Band.

In addition to Emma, junior Juliana Weiss, a clarinetist, and junior Martin Stoner, a tuba player, also participated in the audition process.
