Students of the Month honored

Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS) recognized Haley De Stefano and Steven McDonald as its Rotary Club Students of the Month for March. This honor celebrates students who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, and community involvement, highlighting their contributions to the school and broader community.

Haley is the daughter of Michael and Kristin De Stefano of Elizabethtown. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has earned a place on the honor roll every year since 2022. She was recognized for her academic excellence in ninth-grade Honors General Science. She has been a key member of the Elizabethtown Mini-THON since 2021, serving as both a captain and co-overall leader. She is also a member of the Student Council, helping to plan homecoming dances and volunteering throughout the Elizabethtown community. Haley competes on the varsity track and cross-country teams. Outside school, she received the Do the Right Thing Award for her contributions to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and she is a member of Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren. Haley plans to attend college to major in accounting.

Steven is the son of Everald and Susan McDonald of Elizabethtown. Steven is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. He has consistently earned a place on the honor roll at Elizabethtown Area High School and the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center. Steven participates in wrestling, track and field, and Link Crew. He was named a Wrestling Academic All-Star in 2023 and 2024. In the community, Steven has earned the Eagle Scout Award, and he attends Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he serves as a worship assistant and is active with the youth group. Steven plans to attend Penn State University Park to study nursing.
