Students of the Month recognized

Rodney Sauder and Sarah Forry have been selected as Seniors of the Month for February at Manheim Central High School. The Manheim Women's Club sponsors the Girls of the Month, and the Rotary Club of Manheim sponsors the Boys of the Month. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Rodney Sauder, 18, is the son of Jessica and Jason Sauder of Manheim. He was a member of the varsity rifle team for four years and played tennis for four years, earning three varsity letters. He was a member of Manheim Central FFA for four years and has shown dairy beef for seven years at the Manheim Farm Show. In the community, Rodney has volunteered in the Manheim Project for two years and is a member of Chiques Church. He is involved in his church's youth group and participated in mission trips to New Castle; Johnson City, Tenn.; and Kentucky. He plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

Sarah, 17, is the daughter of Tim and Maria Forry of Lititz. She is a member of the field hockey and track teams, FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, and Interact Club. She has shown dairy beef and goats at the Manheim Farm Show. She placed third individually in the Nursery/Landscape competition at the State FFA Convention and won a silver medal for her performance on the National Spanish Exam. Sarah volunteers with the Interact Club and helps with the fourth-grade Sunday school at her church. She plans to attend a mission-focused gap year program after high school.
