Students of the Month recognized

Owen Patten and Anna Bosch have been selected as Seniors of the Month for November at Manheim Central High School. The Manheim Women's Club sponsors the Girls of the Month, and the Rotary Club of Manheim sponsors the Boys of the Month. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Owen Patten, 17, is the son of Julie Patten of Manheim. He is vice president of Student Council, captain of the quiz bowl team and a member of the varsity tennis team, Interact, National English Honor Society, and Rho Kappa. He has been named to the honor roll and first honor roll. Owen is a member of Calvary Church. He plans to attend college with a path in pre-med and then continue on to medical school.

Anna Bosch, 17, is the daughter of Jason and Megan Bosch of Manheim. She is a four-year member of the Medical Careers Club and FCA Bible Club; a three-year member of Spanish club and Interact Club; and a two-year member of Student Council. She has been a member of the field hockey team throughout high school and has served as team captain since her junior year; she was also named to the All-State Academic Team and won the Field Hockey Baron Award. Anna is a member of National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society, and she was previously a member of the basketball team and the quiz bowl team. She also received distinguished honors. In the community, Anna has been involved in a field hockey youth camp and field hockey youth program and the Youth Intramural Basketball Program. She was a leader at FCA Power Camp and an intern at MBIC Preschool. She is a member of her church's youth group. Through Interact Club, she volunteered for a trash cleanup, elementary school events, Salem Church's free dinner, and other projects. Anna plans to attend DeSales University to study nursing and play field hockey.
