Students to present play

The Learning Station theater department will perform the comedy play "Gone With the Gust" by Tim Kelly on Friday, May 9, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 10, at 3 and 7 p.m. The production will take place at Warwick Middle School, 401 Maple St., Lititz.

Learning Station homeschool co-op has a large theater department that attracts students from all over Lancaster County, with many coming from the Ephrata, Lititz, Solanco, and Elizabethtown areas.

The show focuses on Lone Pine Films in Hollywood, which is slated to make a movie based on a sensational new novel, "Gone With the Gust." Peggy Tempest, the most powerful star in town, is slated to play the lead, but to keep her ego in check, the producers pretend they want an unknown actress for the part. They find the ideal girl, Vicki Rawlins, and the press builds her up to be the next Hollywood "it" girl. But when it is discovered that the producers do not actually have the film rights to the novel, Tempest sues.
