Sunset Hill to celebrate 40th anniversary with art show

Sunset Hill Jewelers and Fine Arts Gallery, 23 N. High St., West Chester, is celebrating 40 years in business with an art show featuring Chadds Ford artist Karl J. Kuerner. Kuerner was personally mentored by world-famous artist Andrew Wyeth and Wyeth's sister, Carolyn. The opening reception, free to the public, will take place on Friday, May 5, from 4 to 8 p.m.

A second event with Kuerner is also being held as part of the shop's 40th anniversary celebration. Author Bruce E. Mowday and project artist Michael Lynch will join Kuerner in the arts gallery on Wednesday, May 10, from 5 until 7 p.m. Kuerner and Mowday teamed up to publish a book, "Emotional Gettysburg," and are working on a second book, "Emotional Brandywine." Kuerner did original paintings of Gettysburg, and Mowday wrote the essays.
