Sweigart, Haldeman Recognized

Griffin Sweigart and Jenna Haldeman, seniors at Penn Manor High School, have been selected as Lancaster South Rotary Club's Students of the Month for December 2022. They were presented to the club by Baron Jones, principal of Penn Manor High School. The Students of the Month are selected on the basis of academic excellence as well as school and community service.

Griffin is the son of Gordon and Adrie Sweigart of Lancaster. He is a member of the marching band and has performed in the County Band Festival. He is also a member of his school's "Dungeons and Dragons" club. In the community, Griffin participates in the Millersville Bible Church and Grace Church youth groups, and he also enjoys tutoring. Following graduation, Griffin will enter the United States Marine Corps and begin basic training in September.

Jenna is the daughter of John and Sally Haldeman of Lancaster. She has earned honor roll recognition and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Civitas Club and the field hockey and girls' lacrosse teams. Jenna was named to the Pennsylvania All State Academic Team for field hockey and the NFHCA High School National Academic team. She was an AP Scholar Award recipient and a 2022 Lancaster County Young Artist Gold Award winner. In the community, Jenna volunteers as a coach for the Penn Manor middle school girls' lacrosse team and Penn Manor youth field hockey program. Following graduation, Jenna plans to attend college to study biomedical engineering.
