Talk to focus on the geology of the Susquehanna River

The Master Watershed Steward Program, in partnership with the Appalachian Brewing Company Inc., will present "Tap Talks: Geology of the Susquehanna River" on Wednesday, June 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the second-floor tap room at the Appalachian Brewing Company, 50 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg.

Attendees will learn about the geology of the Susquehanna River and the influence that geology has on water quality. The presentation will cover rock types, minerals and fossils found in the area of the lower Susquehanna River and upper Chesapeake Bay, along with other topics.

The speaker will be Jeri Jones, a seasoned geologist who specializes in local history and geology. He has written several books and papers and even produces videos on Pennsylvania's past.

This program is an extension of the larger Tap Talks series hosted by the Penn State Extension's Master Watershed Steward Program.
