TBI Survivors Sought For Research Project

Lancaster Bible College doctoral student Becky Reiter is recruiting adult survivors of traumatic brain injury (TBI) to take part in a weekend retreat. The purpose of the retreat is to help TBI survivors find connections and strength by spending time with others who may have similar post-injury joys and struggles.

The retreat will be part of Reiter's dissertation research project, is free to attend, and includes all lodging, meals, and activities. It will take place at Refeshing Mountain Retreat Center, 455 Camp Road, Stevens, from the evening of Friday, Sept. 24, to early afternoon on Sunday, Sept. 26. The center is ADA accessible. Charter bus service will be available at several pickup locations, as well.

Interested persons must be at least 21 years old, must have sustained a TBI by the age of 16 and by March 2021, and must be phyically ambulatory with or without a supportive device. Because the retreat is part of a research project, participants must agree to complete questionnaires before and after the retreat, attend the retreat, and participate in a post-retreat online interview.

Interested persons must register to attend. For more information and to register for the retreat, email Reiter at SynapseTBIRetreats@gmail.com.
