The Arc Lancaster Lebanon will host a Disability Health and Wellness Resource Fair and Summer Party on Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brickerville Volunteer Fire Company, 10 Hopeland Road, Lititz.

A recent study by The Arc of Pennsylvania on health care needs of individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities showed that health care providers are often unsure how to effectively work with and communicate with someone with a disability. Individuals with disabilities can also face challenges when talking to health care providers. The goal of the Disability Health and Wellness Resource Fair is to provide both parties the opportunity to interact and learn how to collaborate to improve care. Those who attend may meet various local providers who can serve their health and wellness needs.

Representatives from these providers will staff resource tables. The entities that will be present include ProCare @Home, Wellcare, Disability Empowerment Center, and Lighthouse Vocational Services. Those who attend may also participate in free health screenings, such as blood pressure checks by Bayada. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the event, and the Summer Party will include a child-friendly area with games, crafts, and face painting. Food trucks will be available in the parking lot throughout the event.

Admission is free and open to the public rain or shine. Vendor spaces are available.
