West Lampeter Township will host a Holiday Tree Lighting Community Celebration at the amphitheater at Village Park, 800 Village Road, Lancaster. As of Nov. 27, the event was planned for Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. However, if the Lampeter-Strasburg High School football team won its game on Nov. 29, organizers planned to move the tree lighting to Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the same time and location.

This year's celebration will feature live holiday music by the Lampeter-Strasburg High School band, hot chocolate and cookies provided by volunteer fire companies, fire pits for making s'mores, and a visit from Santa Claus on a fire truck.
