Tree Seedling Sale Slated

York County residents are invited to help to improve the environment and beautify their properties by participating in the York County Conservation District's (YCCD) 45th annual tree seedling sale. One free blue spruce or white pine seedling will be handed out per person at the sale on Thursday, April 15, at Rocky Ridge County Park, 3699 Deininger Road, York. Orders will be available for pickup from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and walk-in sales will be available while supplies last.

Each year over 20,000 seedlings are sold and planted in York County and surrounding areas. Numerous seedlings native to the area, as well as a variety of fruit-bearing shrubs and trees, such as apple and pear trees, will be featured.

To receive a free seedling, readers should print the coupon posted at http://www.yorkccd.org. The complete order form is also available on the aforementioned website. Orders will be accepted through Monday, March 15.

Proceeds from the sale support the YCCD's educational programs, including the Envirothon program, which attracts 1,000 students each year. For additional information, readers may contact the YCCD at 717-840-7430.
