Troop Announces Newest Charter

Members of Boy Scout Troop 349 recently announced the charter of a new girl troop. Both troops are based out of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Mountville. Having earned their Arrow of Light and completed Cub Scouts, the girls crossed over from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA on March 28 to form a new troop, Troop 349G.

The girls' Cub Scout Den was the first girl den registered in the PA Dutch Council in 2018. Starting that year, families could choose Cub Scouts for their sons and daughters to take advantage of the experiences provided through Scouting. A Scouting program was also made available to older girls, allowing them to progress to the rank of Eagle.

Troop 349 has remained active throughout the COVID pandemic, meeting both virtually and in-person following CDC and PA Department of Health guidelines.
