University choral group to perform

Arts on the Square will present the Furman Singers in concert at Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Second St., Harrisburg, on Tuesday, March 5, at 7 p.m.

The Furman Singers is the 60-voice flagship choral group at Furman University of Greenville, S.C. Directed by Stephen Gusukuma, the ensemble comprises students from many fields of study and backgrounds who are passionate about performing choral music. Since 1946, the Furman Singers has presented a diverse repertoire that spans centuries and explores a range of styles and languages. The choir has an active presence on campus and tours annually across the United States and Europe. The concert at Market Square is the only one in central Pennsylvania during this tour.

A freewill offering will be received. Free parking is available in the adjacent Market Square Garage, which is accessible to people with disabilities. People may enter the church from the first level of the garage or use the entrance on Second Street.

Following the concert, the current exhibit of watercolors by Elaine Wilson will be open for viewing in the Arts on the Square Gallery in historic Geneva Hall.
